Welcome to Fourth Grade!
I grew up in Charleston and love living in the lowcountry. I graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.S. in Elementary Education and The Citadel with a M.Ed. in Elementary School Counseling. I am married and have three boys that keep me very busy. They all love sports so I am a working mother trying to juggle a career that I love and after-school activities. I have been teaching fourth grade at Belle Hall for about 15 years. All of my children have attended this school so I have a unique perspective of how wonderful this school is as a teacher and parent.
Philosophy of Education:
Every student has the right to educational experiences that will provide opportunities for advancement on his or her level. To create an atmosphere that will foster learning, a classroom must be governed by a discipline policy that is based on mutual respect and responsibility. Even though the teacher is the responsible professional in the classroom, students must take responsibility for knowing and complying with classroom and school-wide rules. My students are my “family away from home”. I emphasize the importance of treating others with respect and accepting differences in a considerate way. My job is to teach the state standards, motivate your child to do their personal best, and teach the importance of having a strong work ethic.
