Dear Parents,
The 2008-2009 school year has come to a close and Belle Hall Elementary has had another impressive journey! Thank you to the entire school community for making my first year with the High Flyers so memorable. I appreciate the relationships that we developed and the team spirit shown in our efforts to support our students and each other. The hard work and commitment of the students, staff, parents and community were exhibited every day and makes Belle Hall an exceptional environment for us all. I wish a safe and relaxing summer to everyone. Please take note of the 2009-2010 school year information below.
School hours for 2009-2010 will continue to be 7:40 am – 2:40 pm. Doors open at 7:20 and students are not to be dropped off before 7:15. The front of the school is reserved for buses only during both arrival and dismissal. If you are driving your child, please follow the car rider line. Making your own car rider line is unsafe and is strongly discouraged. A big “thank you” to the majority of parents who follow the car rider guidelines.
We will be having a Meet the Teacher/Pay Fees Drop-In on Thursday, August 13th from 3:30 PM until 5:30 PM. On this evening, you will be able to pay fees, join PTA, meet your child’s teacher, buy school T-shirts, purchase ice cream tickets, sign up for committees, and many other important activities. No grade level orientation will be held on this evening. Prepaid school supplies will be delivered directly to your child’s classroom on Monday, August 17th.
Kindergarten will have their PARENTS ONLY orientation on Monday, August 17th from
5:30-6:00 PM. The teachers ask that you do not bring your child to this orientation, as they have found that orientations with 5 year olds can distract parents from receiving some very important information. Your child may come to “Meet the Teacher” during Fact and Fee Night on August 13th.
1st grade will hold a “Parents Only” Orientation on Thursday, August 20th from 6:00-6:30 PM. 2ndgrade will hold a “Parents Only” Orientation on Thursday, August 20th from 6:00-7:00 PM.
3rd, 4th and 5th grades will not be holding orientations at this time.
Our LMC will not be open this summer. Mrs. Stelow, our Media Specialist, will be sending our Summer Reading Lists to the public library. I encourage you and your child to visit the public library on a regular basis this summer.
Belle Hall supply lists, the 2009-2010 school year calendar and required summer reading lists can be found in your child’s report card. A Special Area Recommended Activities list can be found on the back of this letter.
The Belle Hall office will be open during the summer Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. New student registration will be 9:00-12:00 Monday through Thursday. Please note we are closed on Fridays.
School resumes Tuesday, August 18th. It is a full day and lunch will be served. Have a wonderful and safe summer!
